Books made that way live in that browser on that
device. They are their own set and do not join up with the books on a
computer, so pick one place to keep the real ones.
Right click Saphal Book and choose Open, then Open
again on the box that appears.
It opens in your browser. Make your login on the first screen.
The first open will be refused. macOS says it
cannot check the developer, which it says about anything not sold through the
App Store. Right click then Open gets past it, once only. Double clicking will
keep failing.
On Windows
Install Python once, free, from python.org.
On the installer's first screen tick Add Python to PATH. It is easy
to miss and nothing works without it.
Download the Windows file above and unzip it.
Double click Saphal Book.vbs.
On an iPhone or iPad
There is no App Store app, but you do not need one. Two ways, and they
give you different things.
Its own books, nothing else needed
Open this link in Safari. It has to be Safari,
Chrome on iOS cannot do the next step.
Wait a few seconds the first time while the accounting engine loads.
Tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. It gets its own icon.
Those books live on the iPad and are a separate set from any computer.
The same books as your computer
Install it on a Mac or Windows first, from the buttons above.
On that computer open Use on your phone. It shows an address.
Type that address into Safari and add it to the home screen the same way.
That second way shows your real shop books live, but the
computer has to be switched on and on the same wifi.
On Android
There is no Play Store app, but you do not need one. Two ways.
Wait a few seconds the first time while the accounting engine loads.
Tap the three dots, then Install app. It gets its own icon.
The same books as your computer
Install it on a Mac or Windows first.
On that computer open Use on your phone for the address.
Open that address in Chrome and install it the same way.
What it does
Nepali calendarBikram Sambat everywhere, checked against known
historical dates. The fiscal year runs Shrawan to Ashadh.
Exact to the paisaMoney is held as whole paisa, never as decimals,
so the trial balance ties to the last one.
TaxVAT at 13 percent with both registers, tax deducted at source,
and the monthly return with its due date.
StatementsBalance sheet, profit and loss, changes in equity, cash
flows under NAS 07, with last year beside this year.
Fixed assetsA register, a movement schedule, and depreciation on the
pool basis under Schedule 2 of the Income Tax Act, 2058.
Audit toolsAnalytical review with findings referenced to the Act or
the standard, ratios, ageing, and trial balance import.
StockWeighted average, ageing, reorder warnings, physical count
adjustments with the reason recorded.
Drill downClick any figure and it opens what is behind it, group to
ledger to month to the voucher itself.
Where your books are kept
On your own computer, in the folder your operating system sets aside for
application data. Not in the software folder, so replacing the software never
touches them. Nothing is uploaded anywhere and there is no account to sign up
for.
Back it up from inside the software. Point it at your Google Drive or OneDrive
folder and every backup copies itself there.
Honest limitations
There is no App Store or Play Store app. The browser version installs to
the home screen and behaves like one, but it is not in the stores.
Books kept in a browser are separate from books kept on a computer, and
they do not sync. Clearing the browser's site data would remove them, so
back them up.
Nobody is on the other end of this. It was written for two hardware shops
and one practice in Nepal, and is used on them.
Tax rates and thresholds move with each Finance Act. The reference inside
says so, and figures should be checked before a return is filed on them.
